1.1. Focus Home Interactive a company incorporated under the laws of France, having its registered office at Parc Pont de Flandre, Bâtiment 28, 11 rue de Cambrai 75019 Paris - France, is the Promoter of the American Blood Football World Cup 2018– the competition on American Blood Football.
1.2. American Blood Football World Cup 2018 is a video game tournament where competitors (“the Players”) will play against each other using the American Blood Football video game in a skill based competition.
1.3. The American Blood Football World Cup 2018 comprises numerous prior qualification matches organized through public or private leagues (the “World Cup Qualifier”) before a play off tournament (the ”World Cup Play Off”) as described below.
1.4. By entering this competition you (the “you”, “Player (s)”) and where applicable your parents/ legal guardians (collectively the “Parent”) have to accept the following terms and conditions
2.1. Competition is open worldwide to any person aged 18 years or over. Person under the age of majority in the jurisdiction where they live must obtain permission from a Parent before entering this competition. Focus reserves the right to invalidate entries if the appropriate authorization is not granted by the Parents by the starting day of the competition. « Player » refers to either a person above the age of majority or under the age of majority with the authorization of a Parent.
2.2 Members of the Promoter’s and its subsidiaries, employees of Focus Home Interactive, Cyanide Studio, Games Developer Company and their immediate families (same name, same mailing address) are not eligible to participate to the American Blood Football World Cup 2018.
3.1 The competition will take place from April 4th 2018 at 12:00 pm (Paris time) until August 16th 2018.
3.2 The World Cup Qualifiers will start on April 4th 2018 at 12:00 pm (Paris time) and conclude on July 13th 2018 at 11:59 am (Paris time).
3.3 The Public League ladder will take place in two seasons:
3.3.1 From April 4th 2018 at 12:00 pm (Paris time) to May 9th 2018 at 11:59 am (Paris time) for the first season.
3.3.2 From May 9th 2018 at 12:00 pm (Paris time) to June 13th 2018 at 11:59 am (Paris time) for the second season.
3.4 The Invitational Cup will take place from July 4th 2018 at 10:00 am (Paris time) to July 12th 2018 at 11:59 am (Paris time).
3.5 The World Cup Play Off will start on July 16th 2018 at 10:00 am (Paris time) and conclude on August 16th 2018 at 11:59 am (Paris time).
3.6 The Play Off’s final matches, Invitational Cup’s matches and results will be broadcasted and displayed on Twitch from July 4th 2018 to August 16th 2018.

4.1 Entry- World Cup Qualifiers to the American Blood Football World Cup 2018
4.1.1There are three ways to participate in the World Cup Qualifiers: you can either enter (i) by joining the Public League, or (ii) by joining one of the approved private Community Qualifier Leagues or (iii) by being invited to join the Invitational Cup.
4.1.2 During World Cup Qualifiers, Players can compete on PC/Mac or Sony PlayStation 4 or Microsoft Xbox One platforms, depending on the applicable rules of the specific entry tournament they participate in.
4.1.1.1 Joining up the Public League Champion ladder
4.1.1.1.1 To the extent of the American Blood Football World Cup 2018, the Public League means the Champion Ladder of the Cabalvision League. It is a public ladder. All Players, subject to the definition sets forth under article 2.1 hereunder, can participate in the Public League. The Public League matches can be played on all following platforms :PC/MAC and/or Sony PlayStation 4 or Microsoft Xbox One.
4.1.1.1.2 Qualification games for the Public League ladder will be governed by the rules available on American Blood Football website https://forums.focus-home.com/category/37/bb2-official-competitionsand rules set forth in 4.3.
4.1.1.1.3 Each Coach can have an unlimited number of teams competing in the World Cup Ladder. However each team shall be a New Team (see article 4.3 below) when entering the ladder. If a Coach concedes more than 5 times, regardless of his/her team, during a season, he/she will be disqualified from the current season.
4.1.1.1.4 A match victory grants the Player’s team some points and a better rank. Consequently a defeat will decreased the Player’s team rank and the total points of a Player’s team. For more information, please go visit : https://forums.focus-home.com/topic/466/the-champions-ladder-ranking-formula
4.1.1.1.5 The Public League ladder will be divided in 2 (two) Seasons of 5 (five) weeks each. (see, in 3.3 above)
4.1.1.1.6 At the end of each Season, the best 4(four) Coaches (i.e the 4 semifinalists of the Season) in the PC Champion Ladder will be qualified for the World Cup Play Off, the best Coach in the Sony PlayStation 4 Champion Ladder and the best Microsoft Xbox One Champion ladder shall be qualified for the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 Play Off. A Player can only qualify once, regardless how many Seasons he enters. If the same Coach has several teams in the top 5 at the end of any season, the final ranking shall be extended to the top 5, or so on if needed, to qualify 4 Coaches.
4.1.1.1.7 All matches engaged and not finished at the ending date and time of each Season will not be count towards the final ranking of the World Cup Qualifier.
4.1.1.1.8 The Players that have qualified for the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 Play Off will be contacted by Focus Home Interactive. Their Coach names will also be displayed on American Blood Football website: http://worldcup.bloodbowl-game.com
4.1.1.2 Joining up Private Leagues : the Community Qualifier Leagues
4.1.1.2.1 Players must contact the Community Qualifier Leagues to join up. Subscription to Community Qualifier Leagues is managed by the administrators of the leagues. The list of the leagues will be announced on the American Blood Football World Cup forum.
4.1.1.2.2 Each leagues to be declared as an “Community Qualifier Leagues” must:
• Provide a complete list of participants to Focus Home interactive This list will be available on the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 video game forum.
• Ensure that each Coach uses a New Team, created for this occasion
• Provide details of matches played - at the end of their competition
4.1.1.2.3 The qualification matches will be under the authority of the hosting league and governed by their rules. The applicable rules to qualification matches shall first be validated by Focus Home Interactive. Players have to ensure that it is the case while joining such Community Qualifier League since otherwise they will not be able to participate to the World Cup Play Off.
4.1.1.2.4 Each Community Qualifier League will receive one or more tickets for the World Cup Play Off depending on the number of Players registered for each leagues on the starting date of the American Blood Football World Cup 2018.
4.1.1.2.5 Players can join up several Community Qualifier Leagues. If a player is qualified through more than one Community Qualifier Leagues at the end of the Qualification phase, he must choose among the two, or more, Community Qualifier Leagues, the one he wants to represent during the World Cup Play Off. The second best player of the non-chosen league(s) shall then be qualified to represent such league(s).
4.1.1.3 Being invited to participate in the Invitational Cup
4.1.1.3.1 The Invitational Cup is the third entry way to the American Blood Football World Cup 2018, accessible only to the 8 (eight) best Players of the regular seasons of American Blood Football Champion Ladder.
4.1.1.3.2 The 8 (eight) Players invited to the Invitational Cup are:
• The five best Coaches from the Champion Ladder PC/Mac from Seasons 1 to 14.
• The two best Coaches from the Champion Ladder PS4 from Seasons 1 to 14.
• The best Coach from the Champion Ladder Xbox One from Seasons 6 to 14 (season 6 is the first season of the Champion Ladder on Xbox One).
The best Coaches are those with the highest total of points at the end of the 14 regular seasons of American Blood Football Champion Cups, based on the following rules :
• 1 point if the Coach reaches the Round of 32 (only valid in seasons 9 to 14)
• 1 point if the Coach reaches the Round of 16
• 1 point if the Coach reaches the Round of 8
• 1 point if the Coach reaches the semi-finals
• 1 point if the Coach reaches the grand final
• 1 point if the Coach wins the Champion Cup
4.1.1.3.3 Promoter shall individually contact each Invitational Cup’s participant Players. Such Players have until July 4th 2018 to confirm, via email, their participation in the Invitational Cup.
4.1.1.3.4 Each attending Players shall dispose of a PC or Mac in order to participate in the Invitational Cup, which shall take place on PC/Mac platform only, to the exclusion of consoles platforms.
4.1.1.3.5 Invitational Cup’s matches will be governed by the same rules as the Public League Qualifier matches (see 4.1.1.2 to 4.1.1.5 above) and rules set forth in 4.3 below.
4.1.1.3.6 The two Invitational Cup finalists shall be automatically qualified to the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 Play Off.
4.2.1The 64 best Players from the World Cup Qualifiers will have access to the World Cup Play Off.
4.2.2 Qualification games for the World Cup Play Off will be governed by the present rules and rules set forth in 4.3. World Cup Play Off matches shall be played on PC/Mac platform only. By entering the competition, the Players acknowledge and agree that they must have a PC or Mac at their disposal to be able to participate in the World Cup Play Off, should they be qualified.
4.2.3 Each qualified Players shall create a New Team to enter the World Cup Play Off and keep it for the whole duration of the play off.
4.2.4 The World Cup Play-off is a 64 Players single-elimination tourney.
4.2.5 Players will engage in Matches ruled as set forth in 4.3
4.2.6 The World Cup Play Off starts on July 16th 2018 at 10:00 am (Paris time) and finishes on August 16th 2018 at 11:59 am (Paris time).
4.2.7 The World Cup Play Off final will be broadcasted on Twitch TV.
4.3.1 Each Player acknowledges that the outcome of the World Cup Qualifiers and the World Cup play Off are directly related to the number of members participating, and the skill levels of each Player participating.
4.3.2 To enter the World Cup Qualifiers stages for the public and private leagues as well as the Invitational Cup and, eventually, the World Cup Play off, players must be a Coach of New Teams.
- A “New Team” means a American Blood Football II video game team composed with any races available in the video game, which have zero match to its credit on the starting date of the American Blood Football World Cup 2018.
- A “Coach” means a Player/ an entrant who manages a team in game. One Player equals one Coach. A Player is not entitled to create more than one Coach profile during the American Blood Football World Cup 2018, no matter the stage of the competition.
4.3.3 A Game is made of 2 (two) half periods of 8 (eight) tours each. Each tour last 3 (three) minutes of play (i.e animation, cinematics, players placement on the field do not count towards the play time). If two Coaches are to a tie at the end of a direct knock-out match, they engage in a third half period. Teams only keep non-used rerolls from the second half period in the third half period. During the third half period, a team wins if it scores. If they are still to a tie at the end of the third half period, a dice is rolled for each team with +1 for each non-used reroll. The best roll wins.
4.3.4 Save as otherwise, a match is won out of the best of one Game of American Blood Football. Each match is played according to the American Blood Football rulebook. ( http://www.bloodbowl-game.com/files/BB_LRB6.pdf)
5.1 Any players suspected of Unfair Game Play will be disqualified from the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 and forfeit all potential prizes.
5.2. Unfair Game Play includes but is not limited to such actions as: match fixing, intentional disconnecting, cheating of any sort and by any means, collusion, purposely queuing to find a specific opponent in the World Cup ladder, quickly conceding against the same opponent several times in a row or disconnecting more than 6 times from the same Game.
6.1 Each of the 64 players qualified from the American Blood Football World Cup Play-Off will receive at the end of the World Cup Qualifiers and before the start of the World Cup Play-Off, a Focus Home Interactive game pack , including a Steam (Valve) activation key for each of the following games : Mordheim City of the Damned, Space Hulk: Deathwing Enhanced Edition, Battlefleet Gothic Armada, American Blood Football Legendary Edition, for an approximate total retail value of 165 euros.
6.2 Additional prizes will be distributed at the end of the World Cup Play-Off, as follows:
6.2.1 For the winner of the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 : 3000 USD prize + an ASUS pack (including “Powered by ASUS” High End Gaming PC System with ROG components and AMD Ryzen 16 Core processor, a ROG Gladius II Origin mouse, a ROG STRIX Edge mouse pad, a ROG STRIX Flare keyboard, a ROG STRIX Fusion 500 headphone, a ROG STRIX XG35VQ 35” Gaming Display monitor for an approximate total retail value of 5500 euros).
The American Blood Football World Cup 2018 Winner’s name will be announced directly by Twitch.tv
6.2.2 For the 2nd winner: a 1500 USD prize + an ASUS pack (including a “Powered by ASUS” High End Gaming PC System with ROG components and AMD Ryzen 8 Core processor, a ROG Gladius II Origin mouse, a ROG STRIX Edge mouse pad, a ROG STRIX Flare keyboard, a ROG STRIX Fusion 500 headphone for an approximate total retail value of 3350 euros).
6.2.3 For the 3rd winner: a 1000 USD prize + a ROG Gladius II Origin mouse, a ROG STRIX Edge mouse pad, a ROG STRIX Flare keyboard, a ROG STRIX Fusion 500 headphone for an approximate total retail value of 550 euros.
6.2.4 For the 4th winner: a 1000 USD prize + a ROG Gladius II Origin mouse, a ROG STRIX Edge mouse pad, a ROG STRIX Flare keyboard, a ROG STRIX Fusion 500 Headphone for an approximate total retail value of 550 euros.
6.3 For winners classified :
6.3.1 from the 5th to the 8th best Players : a 500 USD prize.
6.3.2 from the 9th to the 16th best Players : a 250 USD prize.
6.4 Winners will be notified of their prizes by email. They will have to send back, within the time specified by the Promoter, their postal address by email. The top sixteen (16) players of the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 will also need to supply bank account details. Should the winner fail to do so,or fail to respond or claim the prize within the specified time, or if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, potential winner will be disqualified and time permitting, an alternate winner may be selected at Promoter’s sole discretion. Should any winners’ contact details change after notifying Promoter the same, it is the player’s responsibility to notify the Promoter of such change.
6.5 If a recipient of a prize provides false or inaccurate information about him/herself, Promoter reserves the right to disqualify the player from the American Blood Football World Cup 2018. The player’s spot in the tournament is forfeited, and, as far as possible, Promoter may select an alternative player at its own discretion to compete in the tournament.
7.1 The Promoter shall not incur any liability if, due to force majeure, events beyond their control, or events justified as necessary, it had to cancel, shorten, extend, or modify the terms of the competition.
7.2 The Promoter will not be liable for any Internet malfunction that prevents the competition from running smoothly, particularly due to malicious external acts. The Promoter cannot be held liable if one or more participants are unable to connect to the game sites due to a technical problem or any problem related to high network traffic. The Promoter makes every reasonable effort to provide available and tested tools and/or information to the users, but it cannot be held responsible for errors (such as any information on the games website or the sending of erroneous e-mails to participants), a lack of available information and/or the presence of a virus on the site, any Internet malfunction that prevents the game from running smoothly, interruptions, data transmission delays, computer failures, telephone failures, modem failures, failures in the player’s telephone line, software failures, the loss of any e-mail, and more generally, the loss of any data, the consequences of any virus, computer bug, anomaly, technical failure, or any damage caused to a participant’s computer, or any technical, hardware or software failure of any kind, that may prevent or limit a player’s ability to participate in the game or may damage their system. Each participant is responsible for taking the appropriate steps to protect their own data and/or software that is stored on their computer and telephone equipment against any attack. Connecting to the site and participating in the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 is done under a Player’s sole responsibility.
7.3 The Promoter may cancel or suspend all or part of the American Blood Football World Cup 2016 if it appears that any form of fraud has occurred, particularly computer fraud related to participating in the game or the competition. In this situation, it reserves the right to not award prizes for Unfair Game Play and/or to prosecute those responsible for the fraud before the courts.
7.4 In the event of a delay, strike, or acts disrupting the delivery of postal or electronic mail or causing such mail to be lost, Promoter shall not be held liable for the consequences. Any claims must be made by the mail recipients directly to the companies responsible for the delivery.
7.5 The Promoter is not liable for:
• Any incident regarding the use of the prize money,
• Malicious activity,
• Problems with the telephone or Internet connection or with mail delivery,
• Hardware or software problems and/or malfunctions
• Problems accessing the game server,
• The destruction of information provided by participants for reasons not attributable to Focus Home Interactive,
• Human errors or electrical problems,
• Disturbances that may affect how the game or the Matchmaking and or Ranking Functions perform.
7.6 In any event, if the game cannot technically and/or administratively run smoothly due to a virus, computer bug, unauthorised activity, or any other cause unrelated to Focus Home Interactive, the company reserves the right to interrupt the game.
7.7 Similarly, participation in American Blood Football World Cup 2016 implies the knowledge and acceptance of the characteristics and limitations of the Internet, the lack of protection for some data against possible hacking or piracy, and the risk of contamination from any viruses circulated on the network, or any other problem related to mail.
7.8 The Promoter will not be liable for any incident, problems, misuse, involuntary disclosure of any kind caused by the broadcasting of American Blood Football II World Cup Finals.
8.1 All personal data collected in the framework of the Competition shall be processed pursuant to the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act of 6 January 1978 amended, pertaining to electronic data, files and freedom of information(hereinafter referred to as the "Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act") and the EU Regulation n°2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, (General Data Protection Regulation) (together referred to as the "Data Protection Regulations"), by the Promoter and Cyanide Focus in quality of data controllers. All personal datas pertaining to Players are required for consideration of the entry into the Competition, conducting and promoting the Competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winners and sending prizes). The Participant’s personal information may be disclosed to representatives and agents acting on behalf of the Promoter or assisting the Promoter in the administration of the competition, including Prize suppliers and deliverers. Depending of the addresses of certain winners, certain data may be disclosed to suppliers located outside of Europe. All collected data shall be stocked by the Promoter for one year after the sending of the last Prize. No personal data will be used for commercial or promotional purposes nor any other purposes than those indicated above.
8.2 Pursuant to the Data Protection Regulations , each Players has a right to access, amend and object to all nominative personal information with this right being exercised by writing to the following address: [email protected]. The competent national supervisory authority on data protection in the framework of this competition is the CNIL, 3 Place de Fontenoy - TSA 80715 - 75334 PARIS CEDEX 07, France.
Players understand and agree that the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 Finals and Invitational Cup will be live broadcasted worldwide and available on replay on Twitch TV website. Players who reach this stage of the competition shall be deemed to have understood and agreed the Twitch’s terms of use.be in order to compete in the Finals. Otherwise, Players shall be considered to have given up the Tournament. In such case, whenever possible, the Promoter shall select the next best player(s) in the World Cup Play Off as an alternative player(s) to compete in the Finals.
These rules are subject to French law. Any issue related to the use, interpretation, or effects of these rules shall be settled by the Promoter.
11.1. Participation in the American Blood Football World Cup 2018 implies full and complete acceptance of the terms set forth within these rules. For and after the game, the Promoter will not answer any question regarding the practical terms of the game.
11.2. The Promoter will decide on any potential issues related to the application of these rules or any question that may arise that is not addressed by the rules. These decisions shall be final.
11.3. Any fraud or failure to comply with these rules shall lead to the disqualification of the personal responsible from the American Blood Football World Cup 2018.
11.4. To maintain the smooth running of the competition, if something arises that is not covered by these rules, the Promoter reserves the right to amend all or part of the said rules and to announce this modification on American Blood Football II Community webpage immediately: https://forums.focus-home.com/topic/5882/blood-bowl-2-world-cup-2018-announcement
